Stade Toulousain have
confirmed that fly-half Lionel Beauxis has signed a
three-year deal to join them from Stade Francais in the
summer.
Beauxis, who began his career
with Pau, will replace departing fly-half David Skrela who
is joining Clermont Auvergne.
Beauxis, 25, follows in the
direct footsteps of Skrela as both joined Stade Toulousain
from Paris outfit Stade Francais. The overlooked French
fly-half is keen to rekindle his international career having
not represented 'Les Bleus' since June 2009. Although he
played for France in the 2007 World Cup he seems destined to
miss out this summer, unless injuries allow him a late route
in.
His capture by Stade follows
previous announcements that Thierry Dusautoir, Patricio
Albacete, Census Johnston and Yannick Nyanga had all agreed
contract extensions.
In addition to Skrela's
departure the European champions have also confirmed that
Byron Kelleher will be leaving - he has signed a
pre-contract deal with Bayonne - while injured centre Rémi
Lamerat has agreed terms with Castres. He could now
be joined there by another Toulouse youngster with little
used winger Pierre-Gilles Lakafia set to depart after
failing to make an impression since his arrival last summer.
Other transfer news this week
sees La Rochelle centre Thomas Combezou
committed to join Montpellier next season. The former
Clermont player has scored six tries in 23 games this
campaign.
