Yannick Jauzion has been ruled out of France's summer
internationals after picking up an elbow injury in Stade
Toulousain's weekend win over Biarritz.
The 31-year-old, capped
68 times by France, will be replaced by Florian Fritz,
his centre partner at Stade Toulousain for the games against
South Africa and Argentina.
Fritz, 26, is currently
in England ahead of this weekend's non-cap international
against the Barbarians and will now hope to add to his 17
appearances for 'Les Bleus'.
His call up comes just
days after helping Toulouse to their record fourth Heineken
Cup triumph, with the centre playing an integral role as he
kicked one long range penalty and also slotted an
opportunistic drop-goal while his side were temporarily down
to 14 men.

Back in Toulouse the
victory hangovers are just about subsiding, but head coach
Guy Noves has already turned his attention to next season's
campaign, specifically with a back-room shake up following
confirmation that backs coach Philippe Rouge-Thomas
will leave the club this summer.
Rouge-Thomas departs
after a successful decade at the club - he joined in 2000 -
during which he helped the team to two French titles and
three Heineken Cup triumphs.
Speculation is now rife
that recently retired scrum-half/fly-half Jean Baptiste
Elissalde will succeed Rouge-Thomas after the former
announced on Sunday that he had finished his illustrious
playing career.
Stade Toulousain have
kept quiet so far, merely saying that an announcement will
follow within 10 days, which just happens to be when
Elissalde returns from holiday.
Elissalde's erstwhile colleague Frédéric Michalak,
meanwhile, has been making the most of his injury-enforced
absence of late and is set to star in a film - about a
former rugby player who becomes a successful entrepreneur.
Khoder Nasser, the
agent of Toulon's coveted centre Sonny Bill Williams,
is back in New Zealand to hold talks with All Blacks coach
Graham Henry and potential club suitors for his client.
The in-demand former
rugby league international has been offered a lucrative
four-year deal by Toulon, but is weighing up the option of
returning to New Zealand to try and force his way into the
All Blacks' World Cup squad.
The NZRU has already
made Williams a contract offer and Nasser is set to meet
representatives from the Crusaders later this week.
"He loves Toulon,"
Nasser told the Sydney Morning Herald. "But we are
talking about the No 1 entity in world rugby, the New
Zealand Rugby Union and the All Blacks, and I'm quite
flattered to be invited," he added.
Henry admitted there
had already been "communication" and that he was hopeful of
tempting Williams to stay. "If it comes down to money we
might get second. But if it comes down to the desire to play
for his country... that might clinch it," Henry told the
SMH.
One Kiwi who has
definitely played his last game for Toulon is former coach
Tana Umaga. The All Black legend strapped on his boots again
for the last couple of months, but his primary job this
season had been as the club's backs coach. Toulon will not,
however, look to bring in a replacement, with current head
coach Philippe Saint-André stepping into the breach instead.
Over in Montpellier the
Fabien Galthié love-in appears to be in full swing
after the former Stade Francais head coach was confirmed as
the new boss of the Hérault side.
Recently arrived
forwards coach Eric Béchu said he was delighted by Galthié's
appointment. "I am very excited because Fabien is a man who
has ideas, he is a man of experience and has nurtured many
cultures of rugby. His arrival will be very beneficial to
Montpellier and myself," he added.
Club captain Fulgence
Ouedraogo was equally effusive. "It's a very good thing for
the club. He should be able to bring his experience and
professionalism," said the French flanker.
