Biarritz
centre Ayoola Erinle has been added to the England
squad as cover Mike Tindall, who sustained a hamstring
injury during Gloucester's Friday night match against Sale
Sharks.
The
uncapped 6ft 4ins centre has been in excellent form for
Biarritz since making a summer move from Leicester Tigers,
and he becomes the fifth France-based player now in Martin
Johnson's squad.
Erinle,
29, has previously represented England at sevens level.
He joins
Toulon's Jonny Wilkinson, Stade Francais' James Haskell and
the Brive pair of Steve Thompson and Andy Goode in the
England squad.
England
manager Johnson has also called up lock Nick Kennedy after
Leicester's Richard Blaze picked up a foot injury at the
weekend.
Recalled
fly-half Wilkinson, meanwhile, has admitted that
representing his country at a fourth World Cup (in 2011)
would "be great".
The
30-year-old said his summer move to French club Toulon had
revitalised both his body and his mind after years of injury
torment.
"The
crux of the matter for me is whether I can still do it on
the rugby field," he said. "Can I get better? Where do I
feel I am? Am I still challenging? Am I still a threat? Am I
still worth including in the team?
"I felt
I've had a positive reaction to those questions in my head
playing in Toulon. I don't think I've been booed off yet. I
go game by game. A fourth World Cup would be great. Right
now I just feel 100 per cent fit.
"I'd
like to keep that going. The other question is whether you
are actually holding someone else back by carrying on
playing. I haven't got that feeling," said Wilkinson.
He also
confirmed that there would be no holding back when he
returns to international action. "I can't bear not to do my
bit. I enjoy the physical side of rugby. If there's a tackle
to be made I want to do it," he added.
England
play Australia on November 7th, Argentina on November 14th
and New Zealand on November 21st.
And it's not just England who are suffering
from injuries, with uncapped France prop Luc
Ducalcon also now doubtful for the forthcoming
internationals.
Ducalcon
had earned his maiden call up after impressing during
Castres' surprise surge up the Top 14 table, but he was
forced off the pitch on Friday night as his team lost
narrowly away to Perpignan.
The prop
is definitely out of France's first match - against South
Africa - with head coach Marc Lièvremont adding Perpignan
hooker Guilhem Guirado in his place. Guirado, 23, has
two France caps, with Lièvremont defending his selection.
"It is
true that this is not a direct replacement, but Guilhem was
just the 31st man our our list," argued the French head
coach.
France
open their internationals with a match against South Africa
on November 13 (in Toulouse), before playing Samoa on
November 20th and New Zealand on November 28th.
